When did you start running?
I started when I hit a bit of a milestone…!
Why did you start running?
We had 3 kids under 4 so I needed out of the house. My husband ran and it seemed like a great way to exercise and meet new people. He encouraged me to try Ormeau parkrun and I did my first in 27:36.
What is a typical training week for you?
I’ve struggled to get to the club over the past year or so. Pre-lockdown I would do a Monday long run, copy the Striders speed and tempo sessions and a parkrun if I’m not taxiiing.

Karen and the entire family enjoy a spot of running!
What is your favourite Dub training session?
It’s a bit of craic doing the mile time trial along the towpath on a nice summer’s evening.
What has been your favourite race(s) to take part in?
Dundrum is a great race – the run is challenging enough but beautiful, and the craic is always great afterwards. I enjoyed Lanzarote both times – the 10k more than the half!
What are you running goals?
Try a marathon (covid-19 saved me this year)!
Tell us something random about yourself that people might not know!
I’m a big basketball fan and played at uni. I’m loving Netflix’s “The Last Dance” – surely MJ is the best sportsman of all time?
